What happens to the wood chips after grinding?
Stump grinding produces a large pile of wood chips mixed with soil. What happens to them is up to you.
Your Options for Wood Chips
- Leave them in place to fill the hole
- Spread them as mulch in beds
- Haul them away (available as an added service)
- Replace with clean soil for planting or sod
- Compost them if you prefer decomposition
Most clients choose to use the chips to fill the cavity, then top with soil.
